| This
stone-built cottage, has always been attached to Sea View as the original purpose of
such buildings was as a separate store and
repair workshop for the fishing nets.
Now sympathetically
restored to retain the exposed beams and sloping ceilings, it
is comfortably furnished in a style typical of the period but
almost certainly much more comfortable and convenient!
The old net store has become a charming
small Cottage and a very romantic holiday cottage for our visitors.
From the
entrance hall, a specially designed spiral
staircase has replaced the old step ladder and leads to
an open-plan living area.

The natural coloured brickwork,
timber and pastel walls simply enhance the atmosphere of cosy
charm.
< The unusual
'upside-down' design of the cottage interior, enables this fabulous view of the sea
and St Abbs Bay,
from the first floor window. St.Abbs headland, beyond
the harbour, can also be seen to the left, although out of view in
this photo. |
